To support the Amateur Scouting department through player evaluation and recommendations for the annual Major League Rule 4 Draft. Requirements:

Education Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience Skilled or Amateur scouting experience for a professional baseball club preferred.
Experience playing college and/or professional baseball preferred.
Collegiate coaching with recruiting experience preferred.
Skills Independent judgment and ability to multitask is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
High level of attention to detail and strong work ethic.
Understanding of baseball operations structure.
Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing sensitive information.
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels and personalities.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Other Spoken and written fluency in English Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
Active driver’s license and clean driving record.
May require relocation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Duty
Description
Player Evaluation – 40% Complete evaluation of all high school and college players within the territory.
Have intimate knowledge of territory schools, coaches and players.
File scouting reports that detail player assessments including medical information,
psychological testing and potential signability of the player.
Prepare follow lists of players within territory.
Makeup
Evaluation – 25% Develop working relations with all baseball related people, groups and associates within territory.
Coordinate player and/or family meetings. Communication & Analysis – 25% Able to interpret analytics.
Effectively communicate to build successful relationships with cross checkers and scouting director. Administrative – 10% Complete necessary documents and administrative duties in a professional and thorough manner.
Complete expense reports in a timely and professional manner.
Full and complete knowledge of all Major League Baseball rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department director.

Performance Based Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, and spaces like locker rooms).
Ability to handle repetitive tasks such as watching games, workouts, etc.
Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like using a stopwatch,
radar gun and note-taking surface (notebooks, tablet notetaking, etc).
Ability to work long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to drive and/or fly short and long distances, day or night in various conditions.
