About The Role As a Senior AI Data Scientist within the Hyper Automation - Cross-sector Solutions, Acceleration and Data team at National Bank, you will serve as an applied Artificial Intelligence specialist focused on developing and refining intelligent document processing platforms. Your expertise will directly influence the performance, reliability, and evolution of enterprise-grade AI models used across various banking operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on automation initiatives by improving model accuracy, efficiency, and robustness in production environments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement data-driven solutions that generate measurable business value, ensuring that the bank maintains a competitive edge through innovative AI applications.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Artificial Intelligence, complemented by 7 to 10 years of relevant experience. Proven expertise in model evaluation, advanced analytics, and deploying solutions in production environments is essential.

A strong understanding of performance metrics, validation techniques, and ongoing monitoring of AI models is required.



Proficiency in Python is mandatory, along with solid knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of AI challenges in production, including issues related to robustness, model drift, governance, and security.

Experience working with both structured and unstructured data sets will be highly valued, as well as familiarity with AI model governance frameworks and ethical considerations.

Responsibilities

- Define, develop, and implement quality metrics for classification, extraction, validation, and confidence scoring of AI models.
- Build and maintain reference, validation, and test datasets to evaluate model performance effectively.
- Analyze production results to identify causes of issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements to enhance model accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in developing models, prompts, confidence thresholds, and validation rules to optimize processing workflows.
- Compare different model versions to detect regressions and support seamless release management.
- Monitor model performance over time to identify drifts or deviations, recommending necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into broader automation initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies, applying best practices to ongoing projects.
