Urban Form Studio Inc. is a small architecture firm that focuses on large mid-rise wood-frame residential projects throughout Ontario. Reporting to the Managing Architect, the successful candidate will work closely with the Project Team from project inception to owner takeover and is capable of producing cohesive construction drawings and managing projects through construction contract administration. The candidate will have an eye for design and a passion for improving the built environment, while understanding value engineering and client budgetary requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate and lead coordination meetings involving clients, consultants, and the authorities having jurisdiction

Prepare materials for client review, design development, construction drawings, contract administration, and AHJ submissions

Maintain knowledge on current building codes, design trends, building sciences, and relevant technical software

Proven experience working on 3-5 projects at one time

Must be capable of managing deadlines

Ability to travel and conduct site reviews when necessary.



Project sites are located throughout the GTA, Kingston, and Ottawa

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Must be legally able to work in Canada

Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience

Experience designing and detailing large wood-frame projects

Experience designing Part 3 residential projects is a prerequisite

High level of competency in producing contract documents in Revit. A strong knowledge of BIM Coordination is highly preferred

Extensive knowledge and experience in AutoCAD and Bluebeam. Experience in Project Management Software such as Fieldwire would be an asset.

Well organized and capable of guiding a team of junior staff
