**Senior Brand & Publishing Designer

Full-Time | fEMPOWER

Starting Salary $70K–$85K depending on experience and portfolio

We are looking for an exceptional, highly creative Senior Graphic Designer to become the visual force behind the growing fEMPOWER ecosystem.

This is not a role for someone who simply knows how to make things look pretty.

We are looking for a designer with exceptional taste, strong technical ability, an instinct for storytelling and the ability to translate an idea, a story or a brand into visual language.

You will work across fEMPOWER Publications, fEMPOWHER Global and the Sabrina Greer personal brand, creating everything from books and publishing assets to campaigns, event signage, digital graphics and custom creative projects.

This is a full-time position for someone who thrives on variety, takes enormous pride in their craft and wants to help build brands and books that are beautiful, distinctive and impossible to ignore.

THE ROLE

As our Senior Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the visual identity of our brands while producing the creative assets required across our publishing, marketing, charitable and personal-brand initiatives.

A significant part of this position is book design and production.

fEMPOWER publishes approximately 20 books annually. You will oversee the visual execution of these titles from cover concept through final production, working alongside our publishing team to create books that are commercially compelling, beautifully designed and technically ready for publication.

Beyond books, you will act as our primary in-house designer across the fEMPOWER ecosystem.

WHAT YOU’LL CREATE

Book Design + Publishing

Approximately 20 titles per year, including:

- Original book cover concepts and final cover design
- Print-ready full-wrap covers
- Interior book design and typesetting
- eBook covers and supporting digital assets
- 3D book mockups and promotional imagery
- Launch graphics and author marketing assets
- Print and production files according to publishing specifications
- Revisions and final file preparation

You should understand that designing a book is different from designing a social graphic.

Typography, hierarchy, pacing, margins, bleeds, image resolution, print specifications and the tiny details matter here.

Brand + Marketing Design

You will create visual assets across our three primary brands:

fEMPOWER Publications

Our publishing house and author ecosystem.

fEMPOWHER Global

Our charitable organization supporting and amplifying the voices of girls and young women.

Sabrina Greer / The Book Doula

Personal brand, thought leadership, speaking, media and intellectual property.

Assets may include

- Social media graphics and campaigns
- Digital advertisements
- Website graphics
- Sales and landing-page assets
- Presentation and pitch materials
- Media kits
- Press and promotional graphics
- Email graphics
- Lead magnets and digital resources
- Branded PDFs and workbooks
- Event collateral
- Large-format signage and banners
- Step-and-repeat designs
- Printed marketing materials
- Merchandise concepts
- Custom graphics and illustrations
- 3D product and book mockups
- Speaking and keynote assets
- Campaign creative
- Whatever weird and wonderful thing we dream up next

Variety is part of the job.

YOU MUST BE EXCEPTIONALLY PROFICIENT IN

Adobe Photoshop

Advanced photo manipulation, compositing, retouching, mockups and production-quality graphics.

Adobe InDesign

Professional book interiors, typography, long-form document design, master pages/styles and print-ready publishing files.

Adobe Illustrator

Vector artwork, logos, custom graphics, typography and production assets.

AI-Assisted Creative Tools

We actively embrace technology.

You should be comfortable using AI as a creative accelerator for ideation, image generation, concept development, editing and workflow efficiency while maintaining exceptional human creative judgment and design standards.

AI should make your work more imaginative and efficient. It does not replace taste.

THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You are

- An experienced designer with an exceptional portfolio
- Highly creative with a strong and identifiable design eye
- Obsessed with typography and visual details
- Equally comfortable with editorial, print and digital design
- Able to move between three distinct brands without making them all look the same
- Extremely organized and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Fast without becoming careless
- Comfortable receiving creative direction and interpreting conceptual briefs

- Confident enough to bring your own ideas to the table
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Curious about emerging creative technology
- Excellent at managing files, versions and production specifications
- Comfortable working collaboratively with authors, editors, marketers and leadership
- Someone who cares deeply about the final product

Most importantly, you have taste.

Software can be taught.

Taste, visual instinct and the ability to understand the soul of a project are much harder to teach.

EXPERIENCE

We care more about the quality of your work than the letters after your name.

That said, our ideal candidate has:

- 4+ years of skilled graphic design experience
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Demonstrated experience designing for print
- Strong typography and editorial design experience
- Experience preparing professional print-production files
- Experience working within established brand systems

Publishing or book-design experience is strongly preferred.

If you have designed book covers and interiors professionally, we want to see them.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within this role, you become the person our team trusts with the visual integrity of everything we put into the world.

Our books feel unmistakably premium.

Our brands remain cohesive while continuing to evolve.

Our authors receive beautiful creative assets they are proud to share.

Our campaigns have a recognizable visual language.

Our events feel intentional from Instagram to the signage in the room.

And our creative ideas move from “Wouldn’t it be amazing if…” to finished assets without requiring six different freelancers to make them happen.

COMPENSATION

$70,000–$85,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience and portfolio.

Full-time position.

Additional compensation, benefits and performance-growth opportunities may be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

TO APPLY

Please submit

- Your résumé
- A link to your portfolio
- Examples of editorial, publishing or long-form design if available
- Examples demonstrating advanced Photoshop capabilities
- Examples of brand and marketing design
- A brief introduction telling us why this role caught your attention

If you’ve designed books, please specifically identify which covers and interiors were your work.

We aren’t looking for the person with the longest résumé.

We’re looking for the person whose work makes us stop scrolling.**
