Your New Role

As a Senior Specialist, Base Metals Markets , you will conduct macro‑economic and pricing analysis across Vale Base Metals’ portfolio, developing industry supply and demand analysis, price forecasts, and competitive intelligence.

You will maintain pricing models and analyze global market drivers including economic indicators, commodity prices, premiums, derivatives, and policy impacts. You will support the organization’s strategic planning and participate in discussions on market opportunities and risks. You will also collaborate closely with commercial sales and technical marketing, providing insights into our products.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Provide analysis on key macro-economic factors influencing supply and demand, ensuring consistent integration into forecasting models.
- Develop supply and demand analysis, providing the market balance including market segments, regions, and the supply level considering existing operations, projects, start-up dates, etc.
- Develop Excel based pricing analytics tools to capture key inputs and recommend short term and long term pricing.
- In-depth analysis of market indicators, prices, premiums, etc.




- Participate in discussions around market opportunities and risks to support short-term and long-term business and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with teams to produce market insights and reports.
- Maintain and enhance market and forecast models.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on market analysis.
- Prepare and contribute with internal reporting on market developments (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to executive audience, internal broader audience, and external audience.
- Support executive leadership and Investor Relations with timely market data.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Education:

- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline is required

Experience:

- 8-15 years of experience in the field

Skills:

- Strong understanding of marketing, sales & finance fundamentals
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Solid knowledge of the end-uses/products served by Vale Base Metals
- Strong analytic skills with attention to detail
- Strategic thinking & leadership
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Creativity & innovative thinking
