Immediate opening for sheet metal metal mechanics assistant/helper. This is an entry position. We work early morning to mid day. Some days we fabricate metal in our shop, other days we are on the job site, installing sheet metal. This is commercial/industrial environment. The right candidate must be comfortable working from heights, have a general knowledge of hand tools and be willing to learn.

Skills to gain from this position: (will be trained on the job)

- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
- Develop patterns for sheet metal
- Operate light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses.

Learn to Install and use rigging and hoisting equipment




- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as roof decking and sheet metal buildings
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes

Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications. Job Types: Permanent, Apprenticeship, Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
