Software Engineer II, Web at Pinterest

About the role You will join the engineering team to build and maintain the web platform that supports Pinterest.com. This role focuses on improving developer productivity, site performance, and architectural quality while integrating AI-driven workflows into our development lifecycle.

Location: Toronto, ON, CA (with occasional onsite collaboration 1-2 times per quarter; candidate must be based in Ontario)

Engagement: Regular, Full-time

Salary: $139,378 - $189,378 CAD

What you’ll do

- Develop the web platform and internal frameworks used by hundreds of engineers to build Pinterest.com.
- Enhance foundational architecture, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer experience.
- Implement large-scale migrations and automate engineering tasks using AI agents.
- Improve site-wide accessibility, scalability, and performance standards.
- Participate in technical design reviews, architectural planning, and code evaluations.
- Collaborate across functional teams to ship platform improvements and promote new features.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of qualified experience in web development.




- Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, the DOM, and protocols.
- Experience with React, Redux (or similar state management), TypeScript, and testing frameworks like Jest or React Testing Library.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Vite, Rspack, or Webpack.
- Exposure to Node.js, server-side rendering, and frameworks like Remix or Next.js.
- Hands‑on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) for workflow automation and large-scale code generation.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
