We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating children with diverse learning needs and the ability to create an inclusive classroom environment. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), delivering tailored instruction, and fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages student growth and development.
Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide instruction in various subjects, both academic and nonacademic, utilizing effective teaching strategies tailored to each student's learning style.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and acceptance among students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school administrators regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational support for students.
- Monitor student progress through assessments and adjust instructional methods as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior in accordance with school policies.
Experience
- A degree in Special Education or a related field is required.
- Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred.
- Experience with managing a classroom of diverse learners preferred.
- Familiarity with ABA and OG principles is advantageous.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in classroom management techniques that foster a conducive learning environment.
- Experience writing IEPs required.
