The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests and ensuring they are sat at their table in a timely fashion.
Duties and Responsibilities Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, special occasion, allergies) Assists service staff as needed Solid organization skills with ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell Build relationships with guests Adhere to uniform standards and job specific standard operation procedures Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Previous work experience as a Host or Hostess is an asset Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain Excellent communication skills via in person * Previous knowledge using OpenTable is an asset
