For more information on Lac La Biche County check out these links: Lac La Biche County - Home and Tourism - Home Support Clerk, Administration Position Summary Lac La Biche County is seeking a few more additions to our casual Support Clerk pool to provide ongoing supports in various areas as needed. The successful incumbents will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to a department, team, or leadership group as requested. This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day administrative activities, managing schedules and communications, maintaining records and documentation, supporting meetings and events, and ensuring efficient office operations.
This professional acts as a key point of contact, maintains confidentiality, and contributes to a positive, customer-focused work environment. The role requires sound judgment, political acuity, and the ability to manage sensitive information with the highest level of professionalism.
Duties Will
Include (but Not Limited To)
Assuming first point of contact with internal colleagues or members of the public, managing incoming communications, including emails and calls, responding or redirecting as appropriate. .
Preparing, editing, formatting, and distributing correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other documents.
Entering, updating, and verifying information in various systems and spreadsheets.
Maintaining electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring records are accurate, organized, and current.
Coordinating calendars, appointments, meetings, and events for leaders and teams.
Scheduling meeting rooms, virtual meetings, and related logistics.
Preparing agendas, presentations, minutes, and action item tracking documents.
Following up on action items and deadlines to support timely completion of work.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
Council & Governance Support
Assist in coordinating Council briefing notes and reports
Ensure timely communication between the CAO, Mayor, and Council
Maintain confidentiality on governance matters and strategic discussions
Support preparation for Council meetings, strategic sessions, and public engagements Qualifications & Competencies Certificate in Office/Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field. Diploma preferred.
1-2 years related experience.
Customer Service - related training is an asset.
Experience in a municipal or public-sector environment is preferred.

Position Details Reports To: Supervisor of the Assigned Department Location: Lac La Biche County, Alberta (on-site) Status: Casual - Term as needed Days & Hours of Work: Based on a 35-hour workweek, typically Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m (with occasional overtime).
