Join our dedicated team as a Daily Support Worker / Behavioural Interventionist, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to a 24 year young adult with special needs (Autism Spectrum Disorder). This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young life by implementing behavioral strategies, supporting daily routines, and fostering positive development. You will work closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to create a nurturing environment that promotes growth, independence, and well-being.

As this young man has had over 15 years of experience being in an ABA program, some ABA experience or knowledge would be an asset, but training can be provided.

Duties The focus of the BI / support work will be on teaching and implementing daily living skills:

- To independently follow a visual schedule throughout his day;
- To develop independent life skills including completing morning routines on their own; completing self-care routines and basic meal preparation.
- To engage in appropriate learning and recreational activities (reading, writing, math, speech exercises, board & iPad games, outings to local parks, stores, etc.)
- Assist children with daily activities such as dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene to promote independence and comfort
- Foster engaging activities that promote social skills, communication, and emotional regulation in a supportive environment




- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to update care plans and share progress insights effectively

Skills

- Experience working with young adults or older children in educational or care settings, especially within special education environments;
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention techniques and data collection methods for tracking progress;
- Solid communication skills for working collaboratively with families, educators, and healthcare providers;
- Compassionate approach with patience and adaptability to meet this young man's unique needs.

Work hours are part-time and anticipated to be from 800am to 1200pm Monday to Friday. Compensation will be approximately $25-$30 per hour depending on experience and previous training. Working hours will need to be flexible at first as it may take time to establish new morning routines. The home is located in the Oakridge area of Vancouver near the Canada Line Langara – Oakridge Skytrain station and thus is very accessible by transit.

To ensure a stable learning environment is provided, only those who can commit to this position for a minimum of one year should apply.

Candidates should have some knowledge of the principles of behaviour analysis and willing to communicate with Consultant and Program Supervisor on a regular basis.
