Title: Systems Testing / QA Specialist – Intermediate
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months (09/09/2026 – 03/08/2027)
Pay Range: $55-60/hr. on W2
:
- Support software quality assurance initiatives by executing testing activities across multiple technology programs and project environments.
- Perform testing across functional, regression, integration, UAT, automation, mobile, API, performance, and AI-based solutions.
- Apply software testing practices across Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid development methodologies.
- Support testing activities across on-premise systems, web applications, cloud-based solutions, and cloud integrations.
- Work closely with QA Leads, developers, business stakeholders, and project teams to support test planning, execution, defect management, and quality assurance deliverables.
- This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional with 4 years of software testing experience who can adapt to different project environments and testing methodologies.
Job Functions:
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing activities for large-scale applications.
- Perform testing across web, mobile, on-premise, and cloud-based platforms.
- Execute API testing and validate integrations between enterprise applications and systems.
- Support test automation activities using tools such as UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, and similar technologies.
- Perform performance testing and support testing initiatives involving AI-based solutions.
- Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
- Identify, document, track, and validate software defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
- Manage defects using tools such as OpenText ALM/Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence, and similar platforms.
- Contribute to test planning and strategy development in collaboration with QA leadership.
- Support the oversight and delivery of quality assurance documentation and testing deliverables.
- Provide testing status updates, issue reporting, and stakeholder communications as required.
- Apply appropriate testing methodologies within Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid SDLC environments.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA Leads, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve software quality issues.
- Support accessibility and AODA testing activities where applicable.
Skills/Abilities:

- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC processes.

- Ability to adapt to different project environments, technologies, and testing methodologies.
- Strong experience with defect management and testing documentation.
- Familiarity with OpenText ALM/Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, and Confluence.
- Experience with Micro Focus/OpenText UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, or similar test automation tools.
- Experience with API testing, mobile testing, cloud platforms, and web applications.
- Solid understanding of Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid development methodologies.
Experience:
- 4 years of experience performing software testing for large-scale applications.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline required.
- Hands-on experience with Functional, Integration, Regression, and UAT testing.
- Experience testing web solutions, mobile platforms, cloud-based integrations, and on-premise systems.
- Experience with API testing required.
- Experience managing the software defect lifecycle using enterprise QA and defect management tools.
- Experience with test automation tools, including UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, or similar technologies.
- Experience working within Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid SDLC environments.
- AODA/accessibility testing experience is considered an asset.
- Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale technology programs and cross-functional QA initiatives preferred.
