Group Leaders support the daily operation of the Before & After Care Program, providing a protected, engaging, and inclusive environment for children. This role includes planning and leading recreational activities, assisting with homework time, supporting positive behaviour, and working collaboratively with other staff to create a welcoming and caring program for students and families.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children in a child care, school, camp, or recreation setting
- Knowledge of recreational programming and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High School Completion Certificate (or equivalent)
Assets
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Post-secondary coursework in Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, or a related field
- Experience in culturally sustaining and inclusive programming
Hours of Work
- Morning shift: 7:45 – 8:45 am
- Afternoon shift: 2:30-5:45pm
- Potential for additional hours (professional development days, early dismissals, etc.)
