Reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Research), the Research Services Officer supports internal and external grant proposal and funding processes, the Senate Research Committee (SRC), and the ORS (and related) budget administration. The Research Services Officer interacts regularly with a diverse array of constituents including staff, faculty, students, alumni and various external organizations including the Tri-Council federal funding agencies, the Canada Research Chair (CRC) program, and other university research offices. The position requires a high level of discretion and professionalism regarding all files and e-mail correspondence relating to the work of the ORS. The Research Services Officer plays a key role in keeping the Associate Vice-President informed about changes to external funding architecture and best practices in university office-based research administration.
