The Designbase team is seeking a UX Engineer to bridge the gap between design vision and technical implementation. You will work within a small systems-focused group to maintain and evolve our component library across web and native platforms.

What you'll do
- Develop new components from Figma specifications through to coded, documented Storybook stories.
- Audit and update the existing component library to ensure consistency and performance.
- Maintain strict design-to-code fidelity by identifying and resolving drifts between Figma and production.
- Author technical documentation including usage guidelines, prop tables, and accessibility notes.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate component scaffolding, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with iOS and Android teams, including writing Swift or Kotlin code for mobile components.
- Implement WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards into the core architecture.
- Support cross-team adoption by reviewing pull requests and providing guidance to product engineers.
- Manage system-level infrastructure including token architecture and design-to-code pipelines.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in frontend, UX, or design engineering, specifically within design systems.
- Proven ability to maintain high design-to-code fidelity.
- Experience owning or contributing to a component library documented in Storybook.
- Proficiency in cross-platform development logic for web and native environments.
- Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and platform-specific accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve development workflows.
- Experience with React Testing Library, Jest, and visual regression testing tools like Chromatic.
- Strong written communication skills for technical documentation.
