By addressing structural barriers, the Foundation creates pathways for people with disabilities and marginalized communities to access the training and employment they need to thrive. The Foundation operates flagship initiatives including Enable Canada and Nothing Without Us,
and is working toward a 2026 goal of delivering free future-of-work and digital skills training to

Role Overview The Vice Chair supports the Board Chair in all governance responsibilities and plays a lead role in advancing key strategic initiatives of the Enabled Humanity & Peace Foundation. This volunteer leader steps in to chair meetings and represent the Foundation in the Chair's absence, while also driving cross-cutting projects that require sustained board engagement. The
Vice Chair is typically positioned as the Chair-in-waiting and contributes to a healthy leadership pipeline for the organization.

Details
Position Type: Volunteer — Unpaid
Term Length: 2 years (renewable once)
Time Commitment: Approximately 6–10 hours per month
Reports To: Board Chair
Works Closely With: Board Chair, Executive Director, and all Board Directors
Key Responsibilities
Support the Board Chair in fulfilling governance, strategic, and representational duties.
Preside over board meetings, committees,
and public engagements in the Chair's absence.
Lead or co-lead designated strategic initiatives, including the Foundation's 2026 goals and program expansion planning.
Collaborate with committee chairs to ensure board committees are functioning effectively and reporting appropriately.
Assist in the cultivation of recent board members, partners, and stakeholders aligned with the Foundation's values.
Provide continuity of leadership through active engagement in succession planning and onboarding processes.
Liaise between the board and the Executive Director on time-sensitive matters when the Chair is unavailable.
Contribute to the Foundation's public profile through speaking engagements, events, and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, project management, or governance within the nonprofit, public, or private sector.
Strong understanding of the Foundation's mission areas, including disability inclusion, workforce development, and community engagement.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to step into leadership roles with confidence and composure.
Aspiration to grow into the Board Chair role, with an openness to mentorship and governance development.
Experience working with underrepresented communities; lived experience with disability is a valued asset.
Familiarity with Canadian charitable sector regulations and nonprofit governance expectations.
