About the role:

Mello is a Korean-American hair brand reengineering everything your hair touches, starting with the claw clip. Our hero product, the flexible claw clip, has grown the brand to 750k+ products sold, 186k+ customers, and placement at Ulta and Nordstrom.

We're hiring a Performance Video Editor to own post-production across our paid and organic content. Your job is to create high-converting creatives with proper pacing and storytelling. You'll execute roughly 30 assets per week, sharpen your craft fast, and have a genuine path to grow into leading post-production and managing a team as we scale.

This is a full time, ongoing contract role, remote on PST hours. Compensation will be evaluated based on experience.

Who you are:

You're a performance-minded editor with short-form at the core of your work, ideally in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle. You edit for results, not just aesthetics: you understand storytelling, hooks, and retention. You can take raw creator footage and an ambiguous brief and carry it all the way to a finished, on-brand cut without hand-holding.

What you'll do:

- Edit short-form video for paid placements and social (vertical-first:



Reels, Shorts, and similar formats)
- Turn UGC clips, creator footage, testimonials, and product shots into scroll-stopping creatives
- Add captions, motion graphics, titles, and branded elements native to each platform
- Produce net-new edits and fast iterations on winning concepts
- Manage quick turnarounds and revisions with strong attention to detail
- Give input into overall video creative direction

Qualifications:

A sharp eye for pacing and story, with the speed and volume to match. Experience editing ads for DTC or beauty brands is a big plus.

Must-haves

- Native-level or near-native written English
- Premiere Pro or CapCut
- 2+ years editing short-form for brands, performance marketing, or agencies
- A reel/portfolio of paid ad creatives (UGC-style encouraged)

Nice to have

- After Effects / motion graphics
- Experience with AI-assisted editing workflows (e.g. Higgsfield)
