As the VP of Finance, you will act as a key partner to the ecobee leadership team, driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term growth while acting as a solid financial steward for the organization. This role oversees core finance functions including FP&A;, reporting, accounting, financial operations, treasury, and tax, while improving systems, controls, and data‑driven decision‑making across the business. Reporting to the CFO, the VP of Finance will also support strategic initiatives and M&A; activity, including evaluating acquisition opportunities, leading financial due diligence, assessing synergies and risks, and supporting acquisition integration.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic vision, financial stewardship, operational leadership, and commercial acumen with a player‑coach, business‑partnering bias. They are expected to translate financial insights into actionable initiatives, optimize capital allocation, improve organizational performance, and help sustainably scale the organization. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with in‑office work required on Wednesdays and Thursdays to support collaboration, and flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
Transform the finance team into an AI‑forward, business‑centric organization Champion FP&A;, managing short‑term forecasts, mid‑term budgets, and long‑range plan Influence capital allocation and business / decision‑making guardrails Support end‑to‑end M&A; evaluation, financial due diligence, and integration efforts Deepen ecosystem synergies within the Generac residential business Consult and partner with business leaders in commercial negotiations Translate financial performance into business insights as part of business rhythms Oversee corporate reporting, financial operations,
accounting research and compliance Oversee treasury including banking relationships and optimizing cash flow Oversee tax compliance (direct tax, indirect tax preparation, transfer pricing, SR&ED;) Lead and coach the finance team, with a focus on up‑skilling and talent development CFA, CBV or MBA are a plus 10+ years of public/private finance and accounting leadership experience Confident operator who navigates by investment thesis and Return on Investment (ROI) Exceptional communicator with experience collaborating with senior leadership Experience in end‑to‑end M&A; (sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and integration) Experience in US and Canadian Tax required. International tax experience, preferred Proficient user of Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft 365 Apps / CoPilot and Workday Adaptive The hired candidate will be required to complete a background and credit check.
