Water Treatment Plant Superintendent
General Statement Of Duties: Pursuant to the provisions of the General Laws, Chapter 31, Section 29 and the revised Ordinances of the City of Methuen, Section 6-23, the Mayor announces the following vacancy:
Methuen is looking for a highly motivated professional to join our team in a full-time, in-person role managing the complete operation of the Water Treatment Plant in the City. This facility is a 10MGD Grade IV conventional treatment plant serving a large system and is in operation 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and maintenance of the water quality laboratory and serves as the primary public water supply contact for the EPA and MassDEP, ensuring adherence to regulations issued by the same.
Responsible for supervision of staff, budget, quality control, and related duties.
Qualifications: Five (5) years’ experience as supervisor of a Grade III or higher treatment facility plus Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in science, engineering, or a closely related field. Must have comprehensive knowledge of EPA and MassDEP drinking water regulations. Must possess a T4 drinking water license issued by the Division of Skilled Licensure Board of Drinking Water Supply Facilities. Experience with MUNIS preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
