What you’ll do
- Assist in conducting environmental assessments and audits to evaluate compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with senior environmental specialists to develop and implement environmental management plans tailored to specific projects.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data, including soil, water, and air quality samples, to support project objectives.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation summarizing findings from environmental studies and assessments.
- Participate in fieldwork, which may include site inspections, sampling, and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
- Support the development of environmental education and awareness programs for internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on environmental legislation and best practices to ensure the company remains compliant and proactive in its environmental initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and proposals for funding related to environmental projects.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate project progress and address any environmental concerns.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental processes and procedures within the organization.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the company's environmental footprint.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in environmental consulting, assessment, or a related area, preferably in a junior role.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards applicable in Ontario and Canada.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and prepare clear reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with environmental data analysis software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and green technologies.
- Certification or coursework in environmental management or assessment (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Familiarity with community engagement and stakeholder consultation processes.
- Experience in project management or coordination within an environmental context.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in environmental science principles and methodologies, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and reporting.
