French Localization Specialist (Canadian French)

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced French Localization Specialist to deliver high-quality Canadian French translations and localized content across a variety of digital, marketing, and internal communications channels. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure translated content is accurate, culturally relevant, compliant, and aligned with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate, localize, edit, and proofread content from English to Canadian French.
- Ensure consistency with brand, legal, compliance, and editorial guidelines.
- Review localized experiences to maintain intent, quality, and user-friendly language.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, content owners, and external language service providers.
- Utilize translation management systems (TMS), including Trados Enterprise.
- Support localization best practices and advocate for high-quality French-language experiences.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Conduct final reviews and approvals of localized deliverables.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of localization, translation, or linguistic review experience.
- Expert-level Canadian French language skills, including grammar, spelling, and style.
- Strong understanding of French Canadian cultural and regional nuances.
- Experience with translation management systems (preferably Trados Enterprise).
- Familiarity with machine translation and AI-assisted localization tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.




- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Degree or diploma in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience localizing content in regulated industries.
- Knowledge of style guides, terminology management, and localization quality assurance (LQA).
- Experience with content management systems and linguistic testing.
- Familiarity with video localization workflows.
- Experience working within Agile or sprint-based environments.
