National Director, Critical Environment The National Director, Critical Environment leads a national team of Critical Environment Specialists and is accountable for implementing and managing the corporate critical environments program across the Client Business Group (CBG). The role ensures that the CBGs meet current critical environment program requirements and provides ongoing stewardship and leadership of the overall program. Responsibilities Lead the critical environment management team to identify all areas within the CBGs that meet the criteria of critical environments and ensure compliance with the BGIS critical environment program. Guide the team to meet uptime objectives by managing operations and maintenance, leveraging IT resources and processes to deliver cost-effective services. Collaborate with site management, client teams, and subcontractors to implement robust operations and maintenance strategies. Work closely with the BGIS critical environment team to research, develop, and deploy industry best practices. Ensure all personnel associated with critical sites are trained, competent, and perform daily operations with urgency. Direct and manage the implementation of the BGIS global critical environments program, focusing on robust processes and risk reduction. Provide leadership, advice and expertise to meet all service level agreements and key performance indicators. Maintain and manage the critical environment strategy in cooperation with the customer’s team or critical subcontractors. Develop and implement critical environment awareness programs, including EOP, SOP development, document management protocols, capacity planning, change management, risk mitigation support, disaster recovery support, incident reporting, and point of delivery analysis. Establish goals and objectives for the national critical environment team. Act as the national representative with the client on critical environment standards and maintenance practices. Provide guidance for operational plans,
including management reporting and forecasting. Direct the quality assurance program and ensure service delivery meets or exceeds contractual requirements and BGIS policies. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients. Conduct operational and infrastructure risk assessments for critical environments as part of an ongoing risk reduction process. Investigate and determine root causes of equipment failures. Recommend equipment upgrades and maintenance routines to reduce unplanned outages. Serve as the company’s expert representative at industry conferences and seminars. Research technological changes and industry best practices through various networks. Qualifications 10 or more years’ experience in mission-critical facilities and operations, focusing on data centres or telecommunications. University graduation or skilled certification (e.G., P.Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent). Strong leadership, influencing, and directing skills. Excellent business management and development skills. Effective planning, organizing, negotiation, analysis, and problem‑solving abilities. Knowledge of Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions building standards and requirements. In-depth knowledge of mission-critical procedures, reliability programs, and policies. Extensive understanding of industry best practices for mission-critical infrastructure. Ability to implement and deploy critical facilities risk management programs. Professional accreditations: P.Eng, Certified Data Centre Professional, CET (Mechanical or Electrical). Salary This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $129,682 – $162,103 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, professional designations and performance related to this role.
