Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada (On-site). Salary: Based on experience — up to $43.79/hour.
Overview
Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill permanent full‑time Aircraft Technician / Aircraft Maintenance Technician positions at its Vancouver maintenance centre.
Responsibilities
Aircraft Technicians / Aircraft Maintenance Technicians are responsible for airframe maintenance and should possess the following skills: ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance; ability to read and understand various schematics for troubleshooting in maintenance and proficiency with computer and diagnostic tools; strong team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain a customer‑focused attitude in a demanding work environment.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience.
- Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence M2 or M1 (mandatory).
- Valid driver's licence (mandatory).
- Successful completion of pre‑employment testing, medical exam and security screening.
- Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
- Willingness to work night shift (this is the permanent position advertised; ability to change shifts according to seniority may exist).
- Ability to obtain a ramp vehicle operating permit (mandatory).
- Restricted radio operator certificate (aviation).
- Ability to pass Transport Canada security screening and obtain the Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Employees in this safety‑critical role must meet Air Canada medical requirements; candidates will be subject to a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicants.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a quick‑paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all transport security clearances and other required accreditations applicable to the workplace.
- Authorized to work in the country where the job is posted at the time the offer is made; obtaining any required work permits/visas or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidate.
- Assets qualification for aircraft operated by Air Canada; current security clearance.
