Position OverviewCross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.The Tunnel & Marine Technical Engineer will work closely with the Tunnel & Marine Design Manager and will play a key role in integrating technical information, coordinating design activities, and supporting design reviews related to marine structures, tunnel interfaces, and support of excavation (SOE) systems.This role requires strong coordination skills as well as a solid understanding of geotechnical and marine engineering principles, including temporary and permanent works such as combi‑walls, deep excavation systems in marine and tunnel interfaces, and ground movement considerations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the review of design reports, drawings, and technical documents related to combi‑wall systems (pipe/king piles with sheet piles) deep excavation systems, bracing systems, tiebacks, internal supports.Coordinate internal design review workflows and compile consolidated comments. Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, codes, and standards. Prepare and track written comments and review markups.Coordinate design interfaces between tunnel structures, marine structures, temporary works, and existing infrastructure. Track and support resolution of technical issues and open design itemsAct as a liaison between design consultants, construction teams, schedulers, project managers, and discipline leads. Support review of contractor temporary works submissions. Participate in design and technical meetings; prepare meeting minutesand action logs.



Facilitate clear communication and distribution of up‑to‑date project information.Compile and manage design submissions issued to the Client. Track Client comments and coordinate their resolution. Support preparation of internal design packages, technical presentations, and reports. Maintain organized documentation in SharePoint and project management systemsHelp identify design‑related risks and contribute to mitigation strategies. Support the integration of design across civil, structural, geotechnical, and marine disciplines. Assist transition from design to construction, ensuring continuity of technical understanding.Education and qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada. Minimum 7-10 years experience in the design of permanent and temporary works for underground structures.Familiarity with marine construction methods.Experience in heavy infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.Proficient in software related to the construction industry (e.G., AutoCAD, Navisworks and Bluebeam, etc.)Strong understanding of construction documentation and the ability to interpret technical and contractual requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholder. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
