About the Role
QA Automation Engineer Co‑op – September to December 2026. The role supports the Research & Development team by building automated testing for features before they go into production, maintaining product quality, and collaborating closely with product and engineering teammates.
Responsibilities
- Design and document automated test plans and test cases for new and existing features based on requirements and specifications.
- Document and report bugs, failures, and test results clearly and consistently, and support the investigation and re‑testing of defects.
- Learn and contribute to automated test scripts as opportunities arise.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to understand features, flag potential issues, and ensure the team meets acceptance criteria and QA standards.
- Execute manual, exploratory, system, functional, integration, regression, and smoke testing under the guidance of senior QA team members.
- Communicate testing status and findings to the team regularly to support a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Practical experience or coursework involving database‑driven web application testing and software version control systems (Git).
- Exposure to or hands‑on experience with TypeScript and integration test frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Collaborative approach to software quality with strong communication skills.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple overlapping priorities effectively.
- Comfort working independently and asynchronously while prioritizing collaboration.
- Experience or enthusiasm for working with AI.
Compensation & Perks
Co‑op students earn a monthly salary ranging from $3,800 to $4,500 CAD, based on the number of co‑op work terms completed.
