Job Description

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-4, may be adjusted to workload

Wage: Start at $25 an hour, will be assessed during probation period for increase after 90 days

Responsibilities

- Cut, trim, bone, and prepare beef, bison, pork, chicken, lamb, goat and turkey, and game meat
- Slaughter, skin, gut, process under watch of Ontario inspector
- Process whole carcasses into retail and wholesale cuts.
- Ensure all products meet quality and food safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, workstations, and processing areas.
- Follow all food safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the farm and processing team to meet production schedules.

Required Skills

- Previous experience as a butcher or meat cutter is preferred.
- Experience processing livestock is considered a solid asset.
- Knowledge of meat cuts and proper fabrication techniques.
- Ability to safely operate knives, band saws, grinders,



and meat processing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Must have reliable transportation to our rural location in Desbarats
- Provincial Food Handler Certification from Guelph required
