Impact student lives as an Intervention Worker at Alaqsite’w Gitpu School starting August 2026. Provide ongoing support through Individualized Education Plans while collaborating with various educational teams.
This fixed-term role reports to the Methods and Resource Coordinator and focuses on assisting students who need long-term intervention strategies. Your responsibilities include behavioral support, ensuring self-help skills, and promoting student independence across various classroom settings and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and assist students in daily routines
• Implement behavioral interventions per teachers' guidance
• Support self-help skills in safety, eating, and toileting




• Accompany students during physical education and cultural lessons
• Encourage cooperative interaction and engagement among students
Requirements:
• Post-secondary courses in related fields required
• Proficiency in English, both oral and written
• Solid knowledge of Mi’gmaq culture and community
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred
• Criminal Record Check required
