SUMMARYClass Facilitator as a part of Trailblazers Life Choices Inc. will work directly with our participants. The Class Facilitator develops instructional strategies; is responsible for developing content and facilitating classes related to: employability skills, resumes, job developing, workplace safety and behavior, etc.; chooses standards-basedinstructional materials; provides coordinator with an understanding of current research; integrates technology into instruction.This role requires an individual that is able to support the program and team with:High Work Standards: work ethic, attention to detail, time management, task completion, consistency, follow up, coaching, patience, influencing and modeling professional behaviorPersonal Management/ Development Skills: accountability, self-management, stress tolerance, flexibility, creativity, initiative, working in teams or independently, problem solving, openness, willingness to learn, receiving feedbackProfessional Skills: interpersonal and communication skills, influencing, collaboration and the ability to establish effective relationships/trust with others, within qualified boundariesKEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop content and plans for weekly classesFacilitate classesPrepare a program outline for Creative writingProgram outline for Drama as well as facilitationPrepare the cooking and baking meal plans monthly as well as the lessons for cookingPrepare and send out the monthly meal planFacilitate both book clubs and follow the curriculum for each specific classFacilitate the Math clubRecord client's progress and challengesShop for suppliesSubmit monthly plans via email to direct supervisorPrepare client monies for the dayCount and reconcile client fees once per weekInput receipts and change, update tracking spreadsheetSubmit month end client financial records to Program ManagerSupport clients as neededWill provide direction and support for clients and staff as necessaryWill be responsible for tracking client finances which includes recording and distributing client's program feesPrepare class materialsAttend outings as requiredOther duties as requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBe at least 18 years old.Optimally, three years of experience in a related role and supporting individuals with disabilitiesDisability and Community Support Diploma preferredA good understanding of the Vulnerable Persons ActA valid Manitoba Class 5 (I or F) Driver License with satisfactory driving abstract and reliable transportation and proof of appropriate insurance on the vehicleFirst Aid and CPR certificateNon Violent Crisis Intervention certificateDemonstrated language (oral and writing) comprehension skillsOne must be legally entitled to work in CanadaJob Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 12 monthsPay: From $17.80 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:Casual dressApplication question(s):Do you have a car?Experience:Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)Licence/Certification:Manitoba Driver's License Class 5F (preferred)Work Location: In person
