The Power Plant Engineer also performs repairs and maintenance throughout the facility and assists other skilled trades where required. standing and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs., able to climb ladders up to 20 feetExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated ability to operate, repair and maintain facility equipment such as, but not limited to: boilers, chillers, water conditioning equipment including water softeners and reverse osmosis systems, compressors, HVAC equipment and pumpsDemonstrated knowledge of steam and condensate piping, equipment and systems, including mechanical equipment used to modify or transport steam or condensateDemonstrated knowledge of closed loop mechanical systems with the ability to perform chemical monitoring and make adjustments to these systems as requiredAvailability for weekends and on-call when scheduledDemonstrated knowledge of Building Automation Systems would be an assetDemonstrated knowledge and experience in general plumbing, electrical and repairs of all hospital physical plant equipmentDemonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a quick-paced and ever-changing environment including emergency situationsDemonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with GGH staff, patients, families and physiciansReady to Make a Difference?This job posting is for a vacancy currently available.
