The successful candidate is comfortable dealing with clients, communicating with contractors and working on active construction sites. A commitment to providing first‑rate client service and technical excellence to deliver practical,
creative solutions is essential. An inquisitive outlook, a hard worker who readily and quickly assumes responsibility and a team player who has the ability to work independently with minimum direction are traits that are required to be successful in this role.Key ResponsibilitiesManage building envelope projects from initial investigation through design and construction completionConduct site investigations and condition assessments of building envelope systems, including façades, cladding, roofing, glazing, waterproofing, and air/vapour barrier assembliesDiagnose building envelope performance issues such as water infiltration, condensation, air leakage, thermal bridging, and material deteriorationDevelop building envelope rehabilitation, repair, and renewal strategiesPrepare technical reports, condition assessments, and recommendations for clientsDesign building envelope details, drawings, and technical specificationsCoordinate with structural, architectural, and other engineering disciplinesReview shop drawings, mock‑ups, and submittals related to envelope systemsProvide construction review and contract administration services during envelope rehabilitation workMentor and support junior engineers, technologists, and internsBuild and maintain strong client relationships and assist with business development effortsProfessional QualificationsEducationCivil Engineering degree (or related discipline)
