Overview

Production operator in Calgary responsible for transferring incoming raw product from tanker trucks, operating specialised equipment to process the raw material into a dried finished product, and packaging the product for shipment under strict guidelines.

Compensation and Schedule

Competitive hourly wage starting at 27.55$ with an increase to 28.07$ after 3 months. Progressive wage scale from 27.55$ up to 37.13$. Steady and prédicable work schedule: working twelve‑hour shifts on a day and night rotation. Day shift hours are 6:00 – 18:00; night shift hours are 18:00 – 6:00. Team work and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

- Unloading of animal blood using hoses and pumps.
- Lab testing of incoming animal blood to ensure compliance with operational guidelines.
- Preparation and cleaning of the tanker using an automated and manual washing system.
- Separation, concentration and drying of raw product.
- Bagging of finished product in powder format while wearing a protective mask.
- Carrying and piling 25 kg (55 lbs) bags of finished products or chemicals.




- Operating specialised equipment to further process the finished product for shipment.
- Following sample procedures for third‑party lab tests.
- Cleaning any process spill (animal blood and similar product).
- Monitoring and recording process data on a computer.
- Maintaining required documentation related to duties.
- Performing housekeeping tasks (cleaning equipment and floors as per process and housekeeping rules).

Qualifications

- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an equipment operator.
- Knowledge in HACCP.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team setting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate in English.

Physical Requirements

- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs repetitively.
- Being in good physical condition.
