Purpose: The Capital Procurement Manager leads the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of capital equipment and services to support significant upcoming capital investments. The role ensures disciplined procurement practices and robust supplier performance to enable successful project delivery. This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Finance to align procurement activities with project priorities and timelines. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end ‑ to ‑ end sourcing process for capital equipment and related services, including RFQ development, bid evaluation, supplier negotiations, and recommendations. Develop and maintain category strategies for major CapEx spend areas (e.G., processing equipment, packaging lines, utilities). Negotiate commercial terms, warranties, service agreements, and long ‑ term supply arrangements. Manage vendor performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, specifications, and contract obligations. Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Plant teams to support project planning, budgeting, and execution. Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines and overall capital plan requirements. Support standardization of equipment and suppliers across plants where possible. Establish procurement discipline for Capital projects, including documentation. Work collaboratively with the Procurement team to align on standards for RFQs, Purchase Orders (including Addendums and Terms & Conditions) as well as SLAs Qualifications:
Post ‑ secondary degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in procurement, or project management roles, ideally with significant exposure to capital equipment sourcing. Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments preferred. Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities. Analytical mindset with strong financial and cost ‑ modelling skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities. Sound judgment, problem ‑ solving skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
