Our client is a major food manufacutere looking for a Mechanic to join their team.This position will be working day shift 9 - 5, Monday to Friday in a non unionized environement.this position pays $34 - $42/hour plus perksMust have experience in pharma, supplements, or food.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on high-speed production lines.Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery to prevent failures.Installation: Set up, align, and install recent or moved equipment.Safety Compliance: Adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of repairs, parts usage, and maintenance tasks.Troubleshooting: Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime.Smart Staff Solutions +6Qualifications and SkillsEducation:



Millwright license (433A in Ontario), Industrial Mechanic certification, or equivalent industrial experience.Experience: 2–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a high-speed food packaging or manufacturing environment.Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand/power tools, welding (TIG/MIG), reading blueprints, and understanding PLC systems.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods, and work in wide-ranging temperatures (hot/cold environments).Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communicationTo support a fair and efficient hiring experience, we may use AI-assisted tools for administrative tasks like note-taking or scheduling.
