About the role We’re looking for anIntermediate Underwriter, Non-Standard Risksto join our purpose‑driven, service‑focused team.As part of Canada’s largest P&C insurer and leading provider of global specialty insurance, you’ll deepen your expertise in the insurance industry and grow your skillset across a wide variety of lines of business spanning 180 countries.What you’ll do hereAnalyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend thoughtful, solutions‑oriented decisionsSupport brokers with underwriting and rating policies, helping them place hard‑to‑insure property risksUse strong negotiating and interpersonal skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the companyParticipate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events as a knowledgeable and trusted representative of NSRProvide proactive support in growing the department and recommend improvements that enhance service and efficiencyRate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals with a focus on accuracy, fairness, and urgencyHandle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations with a service mindsetDraft clear, professional correspondence including broker letters and memosCollaborate with teammates in Specialty Solutions and other Intact divisions to support shared goalsChampion our NSR service values: Insurance is a right, not a privilege. We’re here to helpWhat you bring to the tableUniversity degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experienceMinimum 3 years experience in P&C underwriting.
