We are currently seeking motivated candidates who do not have a current valid BC Security License. This position is designed to provide required training and certifications at no cost to individuals who are not yet licensed, but are eager to enter the security industry. This free training is provided to selected candidates based on a commitment to at least 6-months full-time work or 9-months of part-time work with Paladin. We provide the Basic Security Training (BST) certification at our office in Burnaby. The course is one week (40 hours) and runs from Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Pay Rate: $18.50/hr - $23/hr starting, depending on what site or program you work in. Please note that this opening is only for candidates who do not have a Security License. We are currently looking for motivated teammates to join our various locations in hospitals, government buildings, post-secondary campuses, shopping centers, office towers, warehouses, and more We even have exciting event security options for major venues that are hosting concerts, FIFA, conventions, etc. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct regular foot patrolsMonitor CCTV camerasRespond to alarms and emergency situationsDe-escalate conflictsProvide first aidManage lost and foundWrite detailed incident reportsControl access to facilitiesOther duties as needed, based on the specific site policiesYOU'RE A EXCELLENT FIT IF YOU HAVE:



Excellent customer service and problem-solving skillsStrong English communication skills (written and verbal); you will need to write detailed incident reports which may be utilized in court if subpoenaedExperience working or volunteering in a customer service environmentConfidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency servicesA passion for being active, since your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkadesPhysical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shiftLegal authorization to work in Canada Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situationsBasic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radioMany of our sites are accessible by transit, but it's an asset if you have your own vehicle and a Class 5 BC Driver's License It's also an asset if you already have other related certifications or clearances, such as Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2), or Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC).
