Who You Are: You have excellent time management, organization, communication and active listening skills. You work independently but seek advice when required.
You respect privacy and confidentiality and handle personal health information responsibly. You are dependable, responsive and trustworthy. You are compassionate and caring and can respectfully set and maintain clear boundaries. You are observant and comfortable immediately reporting client concerns and safety hazards. RESPONSIBILITIESService DeliveryHome SupportContacts clients to confirm service before travellingReceives clear communication from client on expectations and agreed upon tasks before beginning workThoroughly cleans specific areas as agreed upon with the client, including:Vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, moppingWashing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, wiping out fridges and microwavesCleaning and restocking the bathroomTaking out trash/recyclingWiping down/sanitizing surfaces, doors, handrails, window frames, light switches, door handlesLaundry and changing bed linensLight meal preparation (i.E. making sandwiches or reheating cold or frozen food)Light grocery shopping and putting away purchased itemsOther homemaking duties as requiredAdministrationCommunicates with office regarding client cancellations and concernsKeeps appointment times and informs all when running lateCollects client signatures in agreement to time spent at each visitCollects periodic satisfaction/progress reportsSubmits timesheets each weekNotices and reports changes in client behaviours or circumstancesEnsures all client information is communicated and kept up-to-dateMaintains accurate schedule of clients QUALIFICATIONSAvailability to work a minimum of 24 hours a week1-year related skilled experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Driver's License and daily access to a safe, licensed and reliable vehicle for travel to and from client homesCurrent Emergency First Aid/CPR A Certificate (or be willing to acquire by time of employment)Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check and 3 personal referencesWORKING HOURS AND ENVIRONMENTMust be available five days/weekAble to work flexible hours Able to travel to individual client homes in Waterloo RegionAble to work with clients who smoke and have pets preferredCommunity Support Connections is an award-winning non-profit organizationcommitted to diversity, equity and inclusion.
