Current ventures include ClimateFirst and Orbital Stack.Role OverviewIbex is seeking aSenior Controls Engineerwith strong hardware capabilities to take technical ownership of the building motion monitoring and elevator optimization system as it transitions from prototype to commercial product. This position sits at the intersection of:Structural engineering and dynamicsEmbedded systemsIndustrial control systemsProduct developmentThe role will shape the technical evolution of a system that improves building performance and occupant experience in tall buildings worldwide. The successful candidate will document product architecture, address gaps,



and assist in the evolution of the product into a scalable platform.This is a hands‑on role responsible for both maintaining the current system Ibex sells and building the next generation of our motion management products.System Architecture Ownership: assist in documenting the full system architecture, ensure design supports manufacturing approach and help refine product behaviourEmbedded Software Ownership: Own and maintain the embedded software, operating systems, network security and communication systemsHardware ownership: Own hardware-software integration, ensuring reliable communication between field devices, controllers, and embedded systemsEngage in Future Product Development: support development of new system capabilitiesEducation & ExperienceBachelor's or master's degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics or another related discipline7-10+ years' experience in at least one of the following:Embedded systems engineeringIndustrial control systemsRobotics or mechatronics systemsIndustrial IoT platformsExperience with full system integration is strongly preferred.Technical SkillsHardware: Experience with embedded Systems: Beckhoff/TwinCAT, Linux‑based embedded systems, industrial PC configuration, system services and process management, networking and communications protocolsSystem Integration: experience with industrial I/O systems, sensors and instrumentation, signal processing, hardware/software integrationSoftware: Experience with Python.
