This position focuses on the Inpatient Pediatric Unit and Children’s Outpatient Clinics at Waterloo Regional Health Network. As a Child Life Specialist, you will assess developmental needs and implement therapeutic, play-based interventions that promote patient and family-centered care. Collaboration with medical teams and community partners will be crucial in your role to ensure comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess emotional and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients
• Prepare children for medical procedures and surgeries
• Organize and manage donations and supplies




• Facilitate in office visits with community partners
• Supervise Child Life Specialist interns and support volunteers
Requirements:
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) required
• Master's degree in Pediatric Psychosocial Care preferred
• 2+ years healthcare experience with children
• Knowledge of child development and impacts of illness
• Strong documentation skills; Cerner experience an asset
