As a vital member of the Extendicare team, you will be responsible for developing dynamic individual and group activities that promote engagement for residents, particularly for those with cognitive challenges. Your work will be instrumental in monitoring resident responses during programs and maintaining accurate records to support coordinated care with nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and implement diverse activation programs for residents
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of activity areas
• Monitor and report on residents' behavior during activities
• Document participation and ensure accurate resident records
• Liaise with nursing staff for effective resident care
Requirements:
• Approved diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Services
• Proven experience working with geriatric populations
• Understanding of cognitive impairment care and planning
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check is required
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
