Together, we are EXP.Job DescriptionProject Technologist/Building ScienceBe our next Project Technologist/Building Science Specialist!Your work environment at EXPJoin EXP’s Building Engineering Services Group in Belleville, ON as a Project Technologist/Building Science Specialist and play a key role in delivering high-quality building solutions. In this role, you will support building evaluations and the development of practical, technically sound solutions for residential, multi-family, commercial, and new construction projects. Responsibilities will include assessing existing buildings, contributing to repair and rehabilitation designs, execution of Reserve Fund Studies and Condition Assessments, and supporting upgrades or modifications required for recent uses or equipment. You will be expected to manage multiple assignments, maintain strong attention to detail, and communicate effectively with both internal teams and clients.What a day at EXP has in store for youConduct site reviews to document conditions and identify performance or durability concernsAssess building data to diagnose deficiencies and recommend appropriate repair or improvement strategiesStay informed on developments in building science, sustainability practices,



and applicable codesSupport senior staff in providing technical direction to junior team members and clientsPrepare clear technical reports and review documentation produced by junior staffComplete building condition assessments, performance audits, Bulletin 19 reviews, asset evaluations, reserve fund studies, and coordinate repair or rehabilitation workDevelop specifications and drawings for restoration, rehabilitation, and design projectsMeasure and document building dimensions on-site and from drawingsInterpret existing construction details and produce accurate hand-sketched representations when neededLiaise with clients, maintain strong relationships, and contribute to business development activitiesMentor junior staff and support their technical developmentAssist in preparing proposals for building science projectsWhat Your Experience Looks LikeStrong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and building systemsSkilled in AutoCAD and proficient with Microsoft Office applicationsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail in calculations, measurements, and documentationAble to work both independently and collaboratively within a project teamComfortable adapting to shifting priorities and project needsSelf-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks at onceDemonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity in all interactionsCompletion of a degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology with a focus on Building ScienceMinimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering setting, with involvement in building science or structural restoration projects and/or team coordinationPossession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehiclePhysical & Site Work RequirementsThis position involves a combination of office work and on-site building inspections, which may include climbing,



working at heights, and handling equipment up to 50 pounds. Solid focus, clear vision, and attention to safety are essential when assessing conditions, interacting with clients, and preparing reports.
