Are you an experienced civil litigator with the empathy and experience to support survivors of sexual assault through complex, challenging matters? We’re looking for a litigation Associate who thrives on complex, emotionally sensitive work and wants to grow a long-term practice in one of BC’s leading trauma informed civil sexual assault groups.You’ll join a team-oriented, mission driven team known for high impact results, thoughtful advocacy, and a client care approach rooted in empathy, transparency, and trust.What You’ll DoCore Legal WorkRun complex files independently, including trauma informed client interviews, document analysis, discoveries, mediations, and trial preparation.Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, and applicationsinvolving both individual and institutional defendants.Conduct legal researchin sexual assault, institutional liability, fiduciary duties, damages assessment, and long-term care/medical evidence.Develop and refine civil sexual assault specific precedentsto strengthen team knowledge and efficiency.Originate and manage filesthrough your own emerging or established network, with support from practice leadership.Lead PNC calls and draft high-quality correspondence, pleadings, settlement proposals, and legal opinionswith clarity, sensitivity, and strategic insight.Interview witnesses, prepare clients for discovery/mediation, and coordinate with medical, psychological, and trauma expert professionals.Assess damages thoroughly, including non‑pecuniary, aggravated, punitive, past and future income loss, and cost-of-care.Navigate the full civil sexual assault litigation lifecycle, balancing survivor objectives with risk, timing, evidentiary challenges,



and institutional response strategies.Escalate complex client care issues professionally, ensuring survivors feel supported and informed at all stages.Support senior lawyers as second chair at trialor run smaller trials or summary trials independently as your file load evolves.Business Development & Practice GrowthRepresent the firm as a speaker or writeron topics such as trauma informed advocacy, civil sexual assault law, and survivor rights, aligning with firm brand and community impact goals.Collaborate with sub-practice groups(personal injury, medical negligence, class actions, commercial litigation, estate litigation) on cross-disciplinary matters.Participate in billing and file opening targetswith a strategic, entrepreneurial mindset.Build and strengthen a recognizable personal brandin the survivor advocacy space, including networking with support organizations, counsellors, and community partners.Identify opportunities for practice development, including institutional abuse files, historical assault claims, and emerging systemic issues.Leadership & Team EngagementCoach and mentor junior associates and articling students, especially on trauma informed communication, evidence gathering, and procedural strategy.Lead your support team, ensuring seamless,
