Job Summary

Mechanical Designer focusing on CAD of cryogenic dilution refrigerator setups, assemblies of 3D resonator cavities, and structural and thermal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop CAD models of 3D cavities, ensuring mechanical precision and compatibility with cryogenic environments; create technical drawings for fabrication.
- Explore mechanical elements of designs and manufacturing techniques in cavity designs to improve assembly repeatability.
- Conduct structural and thermal analysis of the cryogenic setup to support payload and thermal performance, analytically and with FEA simulations.
- Design and document the cryogenic setups for dilution refrigerator systems.
- Maintain and organize CAD libraries, revision control, and documentation to support long‑term system scaling and reproducibility.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (Design,



Quantum Hardware, and Nanofabrication) to iterate on designs.
- Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and development partners for machining, sourcing, and integration activities.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience.
- Industry experience with interdisciplinary R&D; teams.

Required Expertise and Knowledge

- CAD modeling and assembly design for precision mechanical systems using SolidWorks, Onshape, or other advanced CAD software.
- Optimization of designs for repeatability required for scaling.
- Experience with revision control and documentation of CAD.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles.
- Ability to deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Experience with stress and thermal analysis using FE (finite element).
