The Software and Platform Architecture Team is looking for a creative, highly skilled and talented AI Lead Architect with deep Subject Matter Expertise in AI governance and implementation for our downtown Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal Office location. Reporting to the Director of Software Architecture and Contract Management, you will be responsible for establishing, leading and contributing to the AI Architecture evolution and governance. This role will join an existing team of architects who have a focus on software and cloud platforms architecture best practice and governance.
As part of the Architecture department you will leave your mark by bridging the gap between advanced AI technologies and practical business needs. You will help design, build, and oversee the integration of scalable artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI workloads, ensuring security, compliance and alignment with overall enterprise objectives. Evaluate AI frameworks, platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to recommend optimal build-versus-buy decisions. Guide foundation model selection aligned with CBC's use cases and infrastructure capabilities. Lead the architecture of AI applications using large language models (LLMs), machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
Develop architectural roadmaps for deploying AI initiatives, including generative AI (GenAI), LLMs, and agentic business processes. Lead the integration of scalable artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI workloads, ensuring security, compliance and alignment with overall enterprise objectives. Monitor emerging AI technologies and assess their business value.
Establish architectural standards for model performance, traceability, data lineage, and privacy compliance. Understand business requirements and identify AI use cases. Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications.
Continuously test and refine models to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance in production. Support continuous monitoring and governance of AI solutions post-deployment. Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and development teams.
Work with business leaders to define desired outcomes, success metrics and value drivers for AI initiatives. Collaborate with ethics and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and CBC's governance standards. A supportive management team committed to upholding the highest standards of diversity and inclusivity. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science,
or a related field. ~3-5 years experience in software architecture, cloud architecture, data engineering, or AI solutions. ~1-2 years of experience designing enterprise AI or machine learning solutions. ~ Experience delivering cloud-native AI solutions. ~ Vendor-specific certifications such as the Microsoft Certified: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect or equivalent AWS/GCP architecture credentials are highly valued. ~ Deep understanding of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and AI application deployment using languages like Python or R. ~ Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices. ~ Experience with data management systems and MLOps tools (e.g., Exceptional stakeholder management, technical leadership, and ability to evangelize AI adoption internally.
Experience in media, broadcasting, or content distribution technology. Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.). Executive communication and product management experience.
Self starter with strong ability to lead through influence. Robust communication and coaching skills. Creative and Innovative. Ability to work with remote teams. Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
