JOB OPPORTUNITYPosition InformationLocation Coquitlam Campus Salary Range $31.53 - $34.13 per hour. Salary placement on scale based on qualifications and experience relevant to position.The OpportunityThe Employment Placement Specialist ( EPS ) performs a job development role by supporting clients to secure informational interviews with employers, job shadowing opportunities and work experiences. This position assists clients to create resumes and prepare for work interviews. The role helps clients develop job search skills and supports onboarding, training and ongoing job maintenance. The Employment Placement Specialist is also responsible for initiating, building and maintaining relationships with employers as well as source work experience placement for clients.RESPONSIBILITIES :Market Employer Relations/RetentionLiaise with employer networks to initiative and build working relationships; Attend Board of Trade, Chamber and other business and industry network events such as job fairs; Provide information to employers on working with persons with disabilities; Provide ongoing support to employers who are hosting work experience clients; Increase the number of employers that participate in the program; Set up informational interviews.Employment Workshops/One-to-One Client SupportsDevelop job placements by preparing participants for jobs sourced by the EPS ; Facilitate small group or one to one instruction on job search techniques such as; Resumes and cover letters; Interview skills;References; Job maintenance;Work with clients to source employer leads, networking opportunities and placement ideas; Facilitate workshops specific to employment needs; Support on the jobskilldevelopment.Other DutiesAssist with the development and distribution of marketing materials; Market, recruit and screen potential participants; Conduct client screeningintakes,
including confirmation of eligibility; Complete necessaryprogram documentation; Keep detailed records ofall participants/employer as required by Training Group and the Funder; Provide statisticsand reports as required; Support classroom instruction and additional support to high-needs individuals during classroom instruction; Deliver classroom instruction related to employment; Participate in ISOdocumentation; Participate in regular team meetings, strategic planning and program review sessions as scheduled; Perform additionalduties as required.WHO WE AREDo what you love.
