AccessHR is excited to partner with TransCanada Turbines for the recruitment of a full-time, permanent Commercial Leader. TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for both Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. TCT is headquartered in Airdrie and operates an overhaul depot in Airdrie, a testing facility in Calgary, and three field service offices located across the USA and in the UK.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Commercial, the Commercial Leader is responsible for oversight of TCT’s commercial opportunities, ensuring bids, proposals, contracts, and market initiatives progress efficiently while balancing commercial risk and business objectives.

As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the Commercial Leader provides market insights, commercial analysis, and strategic recommendations that support business growth and informed decision-making. This role also sits at the intersection of sales, contracts, and operations, providing commercial leadership throughout the chance lifecycle. Leading a team of five commercial professionals,



the Commercial Leader partners closely with Executive Leadership, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure commercial opportunities are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the organization's long-term growth strategy.

While legal and contracts specialists provide technical expertise, this role is responsible for facilitating cross-functional decision-making, maintaining visibility across a portfolio of concurrent opportunities, and “supporting deals from tip to tail”. Approximately 50% of the role involves building and maintaining relationships with customers and external stakeholders, participating in commercial discussions and negotiations, and ensuring the organization presents commercially sound, customer-focused solutions. We are seeking an ambitious, commercial-minded leader with business acumen, sound judgement, and the curiosity to learn.

Commercial Strategy & Market Insight : Analyze market trends, evaluate commercial opportunities, and provide recommendations that support long-term business growth and competitive positioning.

Contract & Risk Management : Lead the commercial contract lifecycle, providing end-to-end support and ensuring contracts are fully executed. Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive,



compliant bids and proposals that meet deadlines as well as commercial and contractual requirements. Partner with Sales, Technical Services, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership to develop customer-focused, profitable commercial solutions.

Leadership & Team Development : Lead, mentor, and develop a commercial team while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture centred on accountability and continuous improvement.

Commercial Acumen : Outstanding business judgement with the ability to assess risk, identify opportunities, and make sound commercial decisions.

Communication & Influence : Exceptional communication, negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build team-oriented partnerships. effectively manages competing priorities and consistently delivers high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial management, sales leadership, contract management, or a related commercial function. ~ Demonstrated success negotiating commercial agreements and managing customer relationships. ASSETS Experience in aviation, industrial, heavy equipment, or other complex aftermarket sectors.
