Co-Founder Opportunity – Growth & Business Development Help Build the Future of the Automotive Aftermarket At ShopConnect, we’re building technology that modernizes how independent automotive repair shops connect with their customers.
Our flagship platforms—ShopConnect, a digital booking and customer engagement platform for independent repair shops, and MyRide901, a vehicle management app for drivers—are helping bridge the gap between the mechanic’s bay and the driver’s smartphone. If you’re energized by building companies from the ground up, enjoy solving real-world problems, and want to help shape the future of auto aftermarket industry, let’s talk.
The Opportunity
As a Co-Founder focused on Growth & Business Development, you’ll collaborate the founding team to define and execute our go-to-market strategy, validate product-market fit, build relationships across the automotive aftermarket industry, and help establish ShopConnect as the platform of choice for independent repair shops. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll help make strategic decisions while also rolling up your sleeves to execute.
We’re seeking someone who thrives in ambiguity, embraces ownership, and is motivated by building long-term value rather than collecting a paycheck. What You’ll Lead - Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for ShopConnect and MyRide901.
- Build relationships with independent auto repair shops, industry partners, and early adopters.
- Recruit and manage pilot customers to get input into our product roadmap.
- Analyze customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, and booking data to identify growth opportunities.
- Investigate customer churn and recommend corrective measures.
- Create outreach, launch, and customer success strategies that drive adoption.
- Represent ShopConnect within automotive associations, networking events, and online communities.
- Help shape product direction by bringing the voice of customers into product discussions.
- Contribute to company strategy, business planning, fundraising preparation, and long-term growth initiatives.
Who You Are You don’t need to have been a founder before—but you should think like one.
You are someone who
- Builds relationships naturally and enjoys connecting with people.
- Is comfortable reaching out to potential customers, partners, and industry leaders.
- Has a genuine interest in the automotive aftermarket, repair industry, or automotive technology.
- Listens carefully and translates customer feedback into actionable business insights.
- Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and can speak comfortably with shop owners and vehicle owners alike.
- Is comfortable wearing multiple hats and solving problems without waiting for direction.
- Takes ownership, follows through, and enjoys creating order from uncertainty.
- Is based in the Greater Toronto Area and has access to a vehicle for occasional travel to shops, customers, and industry events. What You’ll Gain Joining ShopConnect at this stage means helping build the company—not simply working for it.
As a co-founder, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Receive meaningful founder-level equity.
- Help shape the company’s strategy, culture, and future direction.
- Build a business with significant growth potential in a large and underserved market.
- Work directly alongside the founding team in contributing to key product and business decisions.
- Help shape products that deliver meaningful, long-term value to thousands of independent repair shops and millions of vehicle owners - This is a founding-team prospect with equity as the primary form of compensation. If you’re ready to build something that matters, tell us what draws you to ShopConnect, what you’ve created in the past, and why you’re the right person to help shape our journey.
