What is the Opportunity?Join RBC's Group Risk Management team as Associate Director, Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) for Canada & Caribbean. In this second line of defense role, you will support the implementation and oversight of our BCRM program across the region. You'll strengthen operational resilience, ensure regulatory compliance, embed robust risk management practices, and partner with business leaders to drive program effectiveness and adoption.Job DescriptionWhat will you do?Champion Strategy & CultureSupport a high-performing culture focused on operational excellence and risk awarenessPromote transparency and integrity through effective challenge with the businessConduct Oversight & ChallengeProvide independent oversight and challenge, a critical responsibility of our second line of defenseManage comprehensive monitoring, oversight, and control programs covering all key BCRM requirementsConduct thematic reviews and policy adherence monitoring assessments to drive continuous improvementSupport remediation of identified issues with accountability and rigorProvide oversight on the design and effectiveness of internal control environmentProvide Advice & InsightsProvide recommendations on policies, processes and tools for business continuity risk managementAdvise senior management and executives on BCRM risk mitigation strategies and emerging industry trendsGenerate actionable risk insights and reporting that directly inform executive decision-makingSupport implementation of operational risk management initiatives across the regionBuild Stakeholder PartnershipsFoster collaborative relationships with business leaders to drive program adoption and effectivenessEnable first line of defense in establishing appropriate operational risk appetite aligned with strategic objectivesChampion risk management behaviors and accountability across all lines of defenseParticipate in various forums, working groups, and committees as well as monitor the internal and external setting to be aware of organizational, regulatory, strategic, and operational changes and environmental trends impacting business continuity management practices.Engage ExternallyParticipate in industry committees, forums, and BCRM associations to stay current with leading practicesWhat do you need to succeed?Must Have:Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries, with demonstrated success in large-scale global matrix environmentsAn understanding of risk management frameworks, control environments, and governance structuresKnowledge of regulatory requirements (OSFI) and compliance expectationsAbility to balance competing priorities with exceptional time management and results orientationStrong analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic insightsExcellent critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions at senior levelsStrong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication capabilitiesStrong facilitation and presentation skills; demonstrated ability toengage stakeholders and committeesNice-to-Have:Industry professional accreditation or certificationExperience in Third Party Risk Management, Crisis Management, or Disaster RecoveryWhat is in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking, to keep growing, and working together to build and deliver trusted reporting to help our stakeholders succeed and communities prosper.
