We are looking for individuals that possess internal drive and keen desire to learn on the job. You will work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-site team of architects, designers and verification engineers and will be responsible for the IP design development and integration within the display sub-system.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop module specifications and follow through with design and programming specificationsProvide technical expertise for next generation initiatives and design automationModel and analyze performance, area, power, and system cost tradeoffs for different micro-architectures. Help drive design decisions to optimize design quality of results.Synthesis, Timing Constraints, Lint, Power Analysis Tasks using industry standard tools (i.E. Design Compiler, Genus, Spyglass, etc).Implement modules and sub-systems in Verilog RTLWork closely with the design verification team to define verification methodology, review test plans and develop reference and bus-functional modelsImplement and debug tests at the module, sub-system and SoC levels throughout the ASIC development cycle (pre- and post-silicon)Develop and update technical documentation on an ongoing basisMake significant contributions to silicon debug and analysisAdditional Preferred QualificationsAbility to work legally in CanadaStrong understanding of basic ASIC/VLSI design conceptsSome experience with HDL languages such as Verilog or VHDLSome experience and comfortable working in a Linux environmentSome experience with scripting languages such as perl, python, tcl, etc.Detail oriented with strong analytical and debugging skillsStrong communication skills and works well in a team environmentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.ORPhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.Applicants Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
