Work Location:Toronto, Ontario, CanadaHours:37.5Line of Business:FinancePay Details:$81,600 - $115,200 CADThis role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.Department OverviewAs part of the GTS Finance, CBTS Finance team provides finance support to the technology businesses within Canadian Banking and the centralized Practices under Customer Platforms. The team’s responsibilities and deliverables include management reporting, planning and forecasting, decision support, business analytics, and additional support for technology partners.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop strong relationships with technology portfolios to deliver monthly/quarterly Management Reporting, Planning and Forecasting and Analysis of financial results.Provide exceptional service to clients with technical assistance.Lead, support and develop CBTS accrual process to leverage Clarity time reporting and partner information ensuring data completeness and accuracy.Lead in‑depth analysis for CB LOB Spend by initiative type vs forecast, plan and prior periods at elemental levels of the P&L.Understand the P&L and provide monthly commentaries on variances, investigate missing or over‑allocation of expenses.Lead deep dives on technology expenses for management and leadership reporting.Lead reporting on resource utilization including hour billed versus plan/forecast and prior periods.Identify and provide impact analysis of financial/accounting, policy and process changes including documentation, follow‑up, escalation and resolution.Map and document technology processes,
system data flow and resource utilization with partners.Lead and document allocation of project, application and support base charges for CB technology; identify opportunities to streamline and optimize allocation model.Manage and develop reporting of technology charges in correlation with demand per type of initiative.Improve existing process on CIO reporting.Develop in‑depth understanding of the technology business environment, growth opportunities and competitive environment.Enhance internal relationships across multiple business units.Contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment.Support the Management Team in responding to and following up on issues, queries and exceptions.Analyze charge‑out rates to review and present cause of over/under recovery.Prepare monthly financial packages for review with portfolio leads.Meet with the Leadership Team to review monthly results and close issues in a timely manner.Qualifications & SkillsThe successful candidate will have strong commitment, initiative, technical skills, inter‑personal skills and problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Excel (Power Pivot), MS Word,
PowerPoint and Outlook is essential.Detailed knowledge of financial accounting processes and internal control structures.Strong attention to detail with ability to synthesize issues.Advanced analytical skills and ability to inter‑relate issues.Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.Ability to multi‑task and work under tight timelines.Proactive follow‑up on identified issues toward resolution.Strong communication skills at all management levels.Consistent team player with relationship‑building skills.Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team.Proven track record of value‑added customer service through initiative and creativity.Strong working knowledge of Hyperion, Essbase and Oracle is an asset.Participate fully as a member of CBTS Finance team and promote team effectiveness.Education & AccreditationsUniversity degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (preferred).Completed or working towards CPA, CFA or other accounting/financial designation is an asset.Minimum 4–5 years of experience in finance and business cases.Work ActivitiesWork activities include team-oriented activities and individual deliverables.
