The Clinical Pharmacist

Supervisor is responsible for the provision, development and day to day operations of the MAHC Pharmacy Department and services. This involves the clinical hands on delivery of service; departmental policy and procedure formulation; program planning, implementation, and evaluation; and the supervision of pharmacy technicians. ROLE The Clinical Pharmacist Supervisor is involved in the provision, development and day to day operations of the MAHC Pharmacy Department and services.

This includes but is not limited to:

- Review medication orders for safety and appropriateness, and verify orders in an electronic computerized health information system
- Provide drug information and clinical pharmacy support (e.g. pharmacokinetic monitoring, etc.)
- Responsible for the oversight of drug distribution services in collaboration with other pharmacy staff (including IV medications, TPN, chemotherapy, narcotics etc.)
- Assisting in the investigation and reporting of medication related incidents
- Ensure provision of pharmacy services in compliance with accepted standards and relevant legislation (accreditation, Can. Soc. of Hosp Pharmacists, Food & Drug Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, Public Hosp. Act, NAPRA, USP 797, etc.)
- Effectively communicate with nursing, medical staff, pharmacy team members and management
- Act as immediate supervisor and resource person to pharmacy technicians, students, etc.




- Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS - Graduate of a degree program in Pharmacy from a recognized University (B. Sc Pharm.)
- Current license from the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
- Three (3) years experience as a pharmacist required
- Experience working in a hospital pharmacy department is an asset
- Member in good standing of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is an asset
